Getting started and choosing a service

How is Daily Help different from housecleaning?

The Housecleaning Subscription provides regular cleaning plus rotating deeper tasks to maintain your home’s established deep-clean standard. We call this comprehensive upkeep.

Daily Help covers everyday chores such as laundry, dishes, meal preparation and light tidying for housecleaning subscribers. It is booked separately from your regular cleaning plan.

Do I need a deep clean before starting regular service?

Every home starts with either a one-time deep clean or a progressive deep clean to establish the baseline for your ongoing cleaning plan. This applies even to beautifully kept homes or those previously cleaned by another professional service, because tasks and priorities differ.

Most customers choose a progressive deep clean: deeper work is spread across regularly priced visits, with no change to regular billing. At your in-person estimate, we determine how many initial deep-clean visits are needed before normal ongoing service begins.

A one-time deep clean is quoted at your in-person estimate. It is never priced below twice the cost of a regular visit and typically costs 2.5–4 times or more, depending on home condition. If you would like to complete a progressive deep clean sooner, a one-time deep clean can be discussed, subject to availability.

How do I know what is included in my service?

During your walkthrough, we will explain which rooms, tasks, and cleaning frequencies are normally included and customize them with you. When you sign up, you will receive an itemized receipt outlining the agreed service plan and associated costs. You can request changes to the plan as your needs change. We will keep you updated when a deeper task is completed and let you know what is coming up next.

What does comprehensive upkeep include?

We maintain the full scope of your deep clean through regular cleaning and rotating deeper tasks.

How do you decide what gets cleaned each visit?

Your cleaning plan combines the essentials covered every visit with deeper tasks completed on rotation. We agree on your priorities during the in-person estimate and build them into your plan. The rotation allows deeper work to be completed within the appropriate service window, with attention to what your home needs.

Can I book daily support or hosting support without a housecleaning subscription?

Daily support and hosting support are available exclusively to our housecleaning subscribers.

These services build on the relationship we’ve already established with you. Knowing your home and preferences helps us provide thoughtful, consistent support suited to your household. We offer them as an extension of your regular housekeeping service.

Do you offer commercial cleaning services?

No. We specialise exclusively in residential cleaning and household support.

Commercial cleaning is a related but distinct specialty, with different systems, equipment and insurance considerations. We’ve chosen to focus our tools, training and processes on caring for homes, devoting our efforts to the needs of households and the people who live in them.

What’s included and optional extras

Are dishes and tidying included in housecleaning?

Light straightening is included, but dishes, general picking up, and organizing aren’t part of your housecleaning plan. Our cleaning visits focus on larger routine cleaning jobs and rotating deeper tasks.

Help with dishes and everyday tidying can be booked separately through Daily Help.

Are cupboard and drawer interiors included?

Most cupboard and drawer interiors are not included in the regular subscription by default. Your home-specific plan sets out any included exceptions.

We usually recommend Daily Help for cupboard and drawer interiors because it is typically less expensive and you can book it when you need it. If it is a heavier cleaning job, gets dirty frequently, or you would like your Senior Housekeeper to take responsibility for it on a fixed rotation, we can include it in your subscription. Our housekeeping team also brings a more comprehensive set of cleaning supplies and tools.

Do you replace hand towels during a regular visit?

Yes. We replace hand towels at every regular visit when clean replacements are available, unless you choose to opt out. During your walkthrough, we record your preference, where clean towels are kept and the designated place for used towels and other dirty laundry.

If there is no clean replacement available, we skip the change rather than remove your usable towel.

Can you start laundry during my cleaning visit?

Starting a load and transferring it during the visit may be arranged. Clean, dry hand towels from that load can be used for replacement if they are ready in time. Starting or moving a load does not include general folding or putting away.

General folding and putaway require separately booked Daily Help stages or agreed Flex Help. Laundry stages—starting, transferring, unloading and folding, and putting away—are booked separately. Folding already-clean laundry is also a separate task.

Putaway requires an orientation to where items belong. Wash-to-finish service needs enough time for the machine cycles; please agree on the stages and timing before the visit.

How flexible is the service if my priorities change?

Within your agreed clean, you’re welcome to point out what matters most that day, and we’ll focus our attention there. That focus does not change the overall scope.

If you need extra tasks beyond the agreed plan, these can be arranged in advance as a separately priced service or handled using pre-booked flex time during your scheduled visits.

Cleaning-team flex time is $60 per hour for regular clients, distinct from Daily Help provider Flex Help at $40 per hour. You can reserve even one hour of cleaning-team flex time across a four-week period, and we track the remaining balance. Since the outcomes are not predefined, specific results are not guaranteed. This cleaning-team arrangement is available only during scheduled housekeeping visits, not as a separate visit.

Unused time does not carry over. Before the four-week period ends, the team uses any remaining time for additional care within the service scope, such as an extra deeper task or documentation.

If something urgent comes up, speak with the team. If the schedule allows, we’ll explain any additional charge upfront. Skipping an area can allow more buildup before its next clean and may lead to a higher catch-up cost. We’ll discuss that with you before additional charges apply.

If your ongoing cleaning plan no longer matches your priorities, you can request a review at any time. A supervisor will meet with you to rework the plan, confirm that it fits the route and daily schedule, and discuss any necessary adjustments.

Do you offer move-in and move-out cleaning?

Yes. We offer move-in and move-out cleaning exclusively to our housekeeping subscribers. These services are requested and priced separately from your regular housekeeping plan.

Your regular housekeeper may have limited availability for these additional cleans. We may be able to arrange another team to provide the service in consultation with your senior housekeeper, subject to availability.

Please contact us to discuss your move and arrange a quote.

Do you offer post-renovation cleaning?

Yes. We offer post-renovation cleaning exclusively to our housekeeping subscribers. This service is requested separately from your regular housekeeping plan.

Your regular housekeeper may have limited availability for this additional work. We may be able to arrange another team to provide the service in consultation with your senior housekeeper, subject to availability.

Please contact us to discuss the work and arrange an estimate.

Daily Help

What can I book through Daily Help?

Daily Help includes separately booked laundry and dish tasks, food preparation, reviewed simple cooking, making beds, linen and duvet-cover changes, light-cleaning touch-ups, quick tidying, pre-clean preparation, light organization and Flex Help.

Choose the stages you need. Laundry loading, transferring, folding and putting away are separate services. Dishwasher tasks are per machine; hand-washing and hand-drying are per standard sinkful, including cookware. We’ll review the available time and machine cycles when arranging laundry tasks.

How much does Daily Help cost, and how do I request it?

Daily Help is for housecleaning subscribers only, with one-time or recurring help. Defined tasks have individual menu prices, and Flex Help is $40 per hour, booked in 15-minute blocks.

The minimum is $50 per visit, including any service fee. All prices are before GST. After any credits, the service fee is $10 on services up to $70. Above $70 and below $80, a reduced fee brings the total to $80. No service fee applies at $80 or more.

Contact us to discuss a request. Scheduling and any additional charges are agreed before booking confirmation.

How is Daily Help Flex Help different from cleaning-team flex time?

Daily Help Flex Help is $40 per hour, booked in 15-minute blocks. It covers seasonal help, including putting up or taking down Christmas trees and decorations, organizing, tidying, packing, unpacking and other agreed household projects. We can work alongside you or independently to an agreed plan. Completion of larger projects depends on the scope and time reserved.

Cleaning-team flex time during scheduled housekeeping visits is a separate $60-per-hour arrangement. The two prices apply to different providers.

Are bed making, linen changes and laundry one service?

No. Making a bed, changing linens, changing a duvet cover and laundering bedding are separate tasks. Please agree on the stages you want and have clean replacements available.

Make Bed is $2 per bed. Change Bed Linens is $5 for a small bed or $8 for a large bed. Change Duvet Cover is $3 for a small bed or $5 for a large bed. Small covers crib, toddler, twin and double; large covers queen, king and California king. All prices are before GST.

How are dishwashing tasks booked?

Unloading the dishwasher, loading and starting it, handwashing, and drying and putting away are separate tasks. Booking one does not automatically include the others. Putaway requires an orientation to where items belong.

Do you offer food preparation or personal-chef services?

Daily Help offers practical kitchen assistance, not a personal-chef or professional catering service. Choose washing, cutting, or peeling, coring and cutting produce. Washing is separate from cutting; simple cut preferences and routine produce-prep cleanup are included. Portioning and storing are separate, with clean containers supplied by you.

For simple cooking, send your recipe for review and provide the ingredients. The reviewed estimate is based on $40 per hour, with preparation included in cooking time. Cooking Cleanup is an additional $10 per visit: one 15-minute allowance after all cooking tasks to wash used cookware and utensils and wipe preparation surfaces. Drying and putting away are separate. Extra cleanup may be suggested during review.

What does light cleaning include?

Light cleaning is quick upkeep between regular housekeeping visits. It covers accessible surfaces only, without moving belongings, and is not a substitute for a detailed professional clean.

Options include high-touch surface wiping, light dusting, sweeping, carpet vacuuming, mopping and Bathroom Refresh. We use Client Package supplies and your household equipment, except for optional Honeycomb Swiffer supplies. A room is a functional space; one stairwell counts as one room. Wiping does not include a disinfectant dwell-time service.

What is included in a Bathroom Refresh?

Bathroom Refresh is a $10 light touch-up per bathroom covering the toilet bowl, seat and handle, and the accessible sink and counter. Belongings are not moved, and tubs and showers are excluded. It is not a detailed bathroom clean.

How are Quick Tidying and Pre-Clean Preparation different?

Quick Tidying means straightforward putaway and straightening in an otherwise organized room. It does not clear accumulated clutter or create a new organizing system. Items stay in the room except for dishes and waste.

Pre-Clean Preparation clears the floor by placing small items on higher surfaces. Items are not put back afterward, and it can be booked without a cleaning visit.

Both are $5 per room. All prices are before GST.

Can Daily Help organize drawers or shelves?

Light organization is $5 for one small-to-standard drawer or shelf. We empty it, wipe it and lightly arrange the contents using your existing storage. It does not include cleaning each individual object.

Food-storage-container organization is separate at $13 per drawer: we match lids, stack containers and set unmatched pieces aside. Containers must be clean; washing is separate. Unmatched pieces are not discarded without your permission. All prices are before GST.

Hosting Support

What does Hosting Support include?

Hosting Support is practical help for housecleaning subscribers before, during and after a private gathering. We work alongside you or your event planner to carry out the agreed plan.

Support may include tables and decorations, carrying food, dishes, trash and putaway during setup, the gathering and takedown. It is not event planning or professional catering.

How do I plan Hosting Support?

Start with a complimentary 30-minute consultation. A consultation with your usual Senior Housekeeper takes place alongside a regular housekeeping visit.

We agree on the tasks, timing and staffing before your gathering. Requests and coordination are subject to availability and confirmation.

What does Hosting Support cost?

Daily Help staff provide agreed event support at $40 per hour for each employee. Optional on-site coordination by a Senior Housekeeper or supervisor is $60 per hour, subject to availability.

Briefed staff can carry out the agreed support plan without a Senior Housekeeper present. Any alternative coordinator is subject to availability and confirmation.

Pricing and payments

Why does my subscription price stay consistent?

Your subscription is based on the agreed cleaning plan, including rotating deeper tasks. The mix of tasks may vary between visits, while your regular price stays consistent.

What if my agreed cleaning takes longer than expected?

You pay for the agreed result, not the hours. We plan the work at a measured pace and absorb the additional labour needed to deliver the agreed plan, without adding an overtime charge. Extra tasks outside that plan are discussed and priced separately.

Can I reduce my housekeeping costs by doing more cleaning between visits?

Incorporating regular chores into your family’s routine is always a great idea and helps maintain results between visits.

However, it doesn’t usually translate into significantly shorter cleanings because our team still needs to carefully attend to all the agreed-upon areas, even when things look tidy.

So we don’t offer automatic discounts in advance based on expected time savings.

If over several visits we see that your routine consistently reduces the workload, we’re happy to talk about adjusting your visit frequency as a way to lower overall costs.

When do I pay?

Subscriptions are billed on the 1st of each month. Subscribers receiving biweekly or more frequent housekeeping may choose two equal installments on the 1st and 15th. Monthly housekeeping is paid once at the beginning of the month.

Each installment is half of your monthly amount, not a charge for the visits in that half of the month. Recurring Daily Help charges may be included in subscription billing or paid separately before service.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We bill through Stripe, a secure payment platform, and we accept Interac e-Transfer. We do not accept checks.

Are tips expected?

Tipping is neither required nor expected.

Refunds and service changes

Why might a skipped visit not receive a full refund?

Skipping a visit can leave more cleaning to carry forward to the next visit. Any adjustment needs to reflect that remaining workload and your agreed cleaning plan. This is separate from cancellation penalties.

See Pricing for frequency context.

Can I temporarily pause my service?

Please contact us at least two weeks in advance if you need a temporary pause for a vacation, medical reasons or another change in circumstances. We consider requests case by case.

Because we reserve a recurring place for you, a pause cannot become an indefinite hold or a series of unlimited extensions. We can discuss alternatives, such as fewer visits or using the reserved time for deeper cleaning projects while you are away.

Can I cancel my ongoing service at any time? Are there any fees or conditions?

Yes. You can cancel your ongoing service at any time, with no notice period or cancellation fee.

Any prepaid services in your current billing period that have not been completed will be refunded. We also refund paid-for rotating deep-clean tasks that were due within a previous service period but were not completed.

We do not hold your appointment space after cancellation. Your place on your housekeeper’s route becomes available to another client immediately, so we cannot guarantee the same housekeeper or appointment time if you return.

This answer concerns ending ongoing service. Please contact us about cancelling or rescheduling an individual appointment.

How do I restart service?

Please reach out. We’d love to welcome you back. We’ll arrange a new in-person estimate to review your home’s current needs and put together your updated cleaning plan.

Two months or more since your last cleaning visit: We begin with an initial deep clean or progressive reset to re-establish the starting standard. Less than two months: The usual pricing adjustment for the gap between visits applies.

Appointments are subject to availability. We cannot guarantee your previous housekeeper or appointment time, but we’re happy to add you to your preferred housekeeper’s waitlist.

There is no fee to rejoin. Any applicable reset work or adjustment for the gap between visits will be reflected in your estimate. If materials from your original complimentary client package are missing, a replacement charge may also apply.

What should I do if someone in my household is ill?

Please tell us promptly so we can discuss the visit.

Preparing your home and access

Do I need to tidy up before you arrive?

We can shift a few small items as we dust and vacuum, but full tidying is not included. If an area is congested, we’ll clean what we can reach and work around it. Clearing floors and surfaces helps us deliver the full agreed clean. If you would like help tidying beforehand, we offer a Daily Help option.

How can I help you make the most of each visit?

Keep areas accessible. Please clear clutter and obstacles that prevent access to floors and surfaces. We’ll move a few small items as we clean, but substantial tidying isn’t included.

Give us room to work. We work considerately around your household, avoiding rooms actively in use or vacuuming beside someone on a call. If an area remains occupied or inaccessible, we may be unable to complete it during your scheduled visit.

We cannot provide service with unsupervised children present.

Have clean linens available. If linen changing is included in your service, fresh linens must be accessible and the team must know where to find them.

Optional helpful tip: Grouping small countertop items in baskets makes it easier to move them together and thoroughly clean underneath.

Products, hygiene and care of belongings

How do you choose the right products and methods for the surfaces in my home?

Our housekeepers receive training and follow strict guidelines on which products and methods are appropriate for different surfaces, with specific procedures for unusual or unfamiliar materials.

When we cannot establish a safe cleaning method, we choose caution. We leave the surface or item untouched, flag the concern, and communicate with you before proceeding.

We follow manufacturer cleaning instructions for appliances and fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms, helping protect their finishes and avoid cleaning methods that could affect warranty coverage.

Do you use all-natural cleaning products?

Not exclusively. We favour tested, naturally derived products wherever they can do the job safely and effectively. We select our products with care, considering their performance, appropriate use and compatibility with the surfaces in your home.

Regular maintenance and deep cleaning have different requirements. For deep cleaning or stubborn buildup, stronger specialist products may be needed. We use these sparingly and only where necessary, following each product’s directions for application, contact time and rinsing. We also clean tools before using them elsewhere to avoid transferring product residue.

We generally prefer professionally formulated products over DIY mixtures because they provide clear instructions and predictable results. We do not rely on vinegar or homemade recipes as substitutes for a properly labelled disinfectant.

If you have particular sensitivities or concerns, please let us know so we can discuss suitable adjustments.

Are your cleaning products safe for babies and young children?

We take particular care in homes with young children. For regular maintenance cleaning, we select products for both safety and effectiveness, using the correct dilutions on appropriate surfaces and following the manufacturer’s directions.

Please keep babies and young children away from our supplies, equipment and areas being actively cleaned. Before children return to treated areas, any required contact time and rinsing must be complete, and surfaces should be dry.

Deep cleaning may require different products and precautions from regular maintenance. Stronger specialist cleaners are used only where needed and according to their directions.

If your child has allergies, fragrance sensitivities or other particular needs, please let us know before your visit so we can discuss suitable adjustments.

Are your cleaning products safe for pets?

Even when a product is described as “pet-safe,” we take precautions to prevent unnecessary exposure. We never spray cleaning products near pet food, drinking water or bedding.

We move food and water bowls out of the cleaning area when necessary, then replace them afterward. We shield fish bowls from spray. Any relocation is agreed with you beforehand.

Please keep pets away from active cleaning areas and wet cleaning products. Let us know about your pets and any particular sensitivities or care requirements before your visit so we can discuss suitable arrangements.

How often do you disinfect high-touch surfaces?

A full disinfection rotation of suitable high-touch surfaces, such as light switches and railings, is included every two months. You can choose an optional add-on for this work at every visit.

Cleaning removes dirt and many germs. Disinfection is a separate step after cleaning, using a product suitable for the surface and following its label directions, including the full required wet contact time. This does not promise a permanently germ-free home.

How do you decide what to discard when cleaning my refrigerator?

We follow the disposal preferences recorded in your work order. At the walkthrough, we ask whether you want printed dates used, what threshold you prefer and whether there are exceptions. We do not substitute our own date rules or preferences for yours.

Your preferences about keeping and discarding belongings remain yours. When permission is unclear, we leave the item and ask.

Our staff, privacy and security

Who designs your cleaning procedures?

Our company is maid-run. Management has personally tested, troubleshot and refined our procedures to make the work clear, straightforward and manageable. The people setting expectations understand the work firsthand.

Will the same people clean my home each time?

When you join, we reserve a place on your senior housekeeper’s route. They are your dedicated lead and the primary person responsible for your ongoing home care, working alongside a trained assistant housekeeper under their supervision on regular routes.

If illness, vacation, or a scheduling change prevents your senior housekeeper from attending, we’ll work with your preferences. With your agreement, another team member can lead that visit. Your senior housekeeper remains responsible for your service and coordinates with anyone filling in.

Alternative arrangements depend on availability and will be agreed with you.

Will my senior housekeeper work alone or with an assistant?

On our regular routes, senior housekeepers always work with an assistant. If you prefer solo service, limited appointments may be available with our specialized housekeepers, who work solo routes on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How do you keep track of my home preferences and special instructions?

Our rotating checklist system is tailored to your home and the cleaning plan we agree on during your in-person estimate.

Your preferences and important instructions, including allergies, areas or objects not to touch, and special requests, have a dedicated section highlighted in red on every checklist. Every housekeeper working in your home is required to review and follow these instructions.

How do you handle personal belongings and private areas of my home?

We treat being invited into your home as a privilege. We enter areas and handle belongings only within the permissions explicitly agreed in your service plan.

During routine cleaning, cupboards may be opened as needed. Drawers are opened only enough to wipe the top ledge of their fronts.

Our staff are trained to recognise sensitive belongings, including legal documents, health-related items and intimate belongings. These are automatically treated as private and must be left untouched.

Religious belongings are handled according to your instructions. Objects such as icons, crucifixes and statues can be dusted and cared for as agreed in your service plan. Altars, shrines and other devotional or ceremonial arrangements are left undisturbed unless you have given specific instructions. If staff are unsure whether an item may be handled, they leave it untouched and ask.

We discuss your boundaries when building your service plan. Any rooms, storage areas or items you identify as off-limits are marked in red on every work-order checklist. Staff are required to follow those instructions on every visit.

Can I request a different senior housekeeper?

Please let us know if the personal fit is not right. You may ask to change senior housekeepers. We do not accommodate discriminatory requests, including requests based on race.

Problems, damage and service guarantee

What should I do if something was missed or I am unhappy with part of my clean?

Our careful training, rotating checklists, and regular quality checks help us deliver consistent service. But human error can happen, and we want raising a concern to be easy.

Contact the office directly. We’ll respond as soon as possible.

Please report incomplete cleaning or damage within 24 hours of your service. If unusual circumstances, such as being away on vacation, prevent this, please let us know so we can discuss it.

For incomplete cleaning, we’ll bring the work up to the agreed standard within 24 hours of receiving your report or provide a full service refund. Damage concerns are handled separately under our repair and replacement policy.

We are fully insured and take responsibility for damage that occurs within the scope of our service.

Why might a surface still look worn or stained after cleaning?

Cleaning removes soil and buildup, but it cannot reverse damage such as scratches, etching, worn finishes, or permanent discolouration. A thoroughly cleaned surface may still show these signs of wear.

The material and its condition also determine what we can safely remove. More aggressive cleaning can cause further damage, so we may recommend repair, refinishing, or replacement when cleaning alone cannot achieve the appearance you want.

We’ll note in your cleaning report any damage we notice that limits the cleaning result or what we can safely clean, so you understand what remains and why.

Removing dirt or buildup can reveal pre-existing damage that was hidden. If that happens, we’ll flag it and explain the tools and methods we used. If there is a possibility that our process caused the damage, we’ll tell you directly.

I’m worried about things being damaged during cleaning. What do you do to prevent that?

Cleaning involves handling belongings, moving items, and using cleaning products and tools, so there is always some possibility of accidental damage. We take that seriously and put specific precautions in place to reduce the risk.

Our extended training and onboarding process emphasizes precision, careful handling, and appropriate methods for different materials. Follow-up training and supervision help reinforce those habits.

Careful work also needs the right conditions. We give our cleaners the time, tools, and support to do their work thoughtfully, including asking for guidance when something is unfamiliar. We also plan for proper breaks and time to eat so they can stay focused and work carefully. We want the person caring for your home to feel supported and able to pay attention.

During your walkthrough, we’ll discuss anything particularly delicate, complicated to clean, or irreplaceable. Together, we can identify items that are best left untouched. Anything you ask us not to touch is prominently flagged in your home’s instructions, and our cleaners are required to respect those boundaries on every visit.

If we notice damage or suspect we may have caused it, we’ll let you know promptly. Our straightforward reporting process brings concerns to a supervisor quickly so they can be assessed and addressed.

We’re fully insured. If we cause damage, we’ll work with you to put it right through appropriate repair or replacement in accordance with our damage and replacement policy.

What should I do if something goes missing from my home?

Please contact us promptly. We’ll investigate internally to find out whether the item was seen or moved during cleaning, and whether our staff have any information that could help locate it.

If theft is suspected, we notify the police immediately while also conducting our internal investigation. We take any possibility of theft seriously and treat your concern with care and urgency.
